As the summer camp moves quickly along, I have had a chance to see the children at the Siena Youth center tramendously grow both in academics and athletics. With now only two weeks left at camp, it is such an amazing sight to see the improvement of the children. This past week the students have been focusing on writing prompts in the classroom. Each student is given a controversial topic and it is there job to write 3-5 paragraphs on their beliefs. They have also been practicing their math skills, learning something new every day! In the gym, the student athletes are focusing on a wide range of sports such as basketball, volleyball and soccer. At the Siena Youth Center, it is our goal to teach every athlete the correct fundamentals to excel and become a competitor at their chosen sport. On Wednesday the campers took a field trip to Edgewood Park, where they went hiking and got to see the beautiful nature. With only two weeks left in the summer program, all of the campers have been working hard! Keep up the good work!
